Born of this rich heritage, it is nested among stone remains that date back as far as the 1st century BC, within walls that have witnessed the rise and fall of many civilisations including the Romans, the Crusaders, the Mamelukes, the Ottomans…
The foundations of the house itself are built on the Crusader tower
adjacent to the northern Byblos city wall, grounded in history and rising to preserve the continuity of this timeless gem.
Casa Lucia is named after the original home owner, Lucia,
a prominent figure of the Byblos community in the 50’s. Loved and respected for her kindness and generosity, Lucia welcomed many people within the walls of this ancient house. She enveloped them with her tolerance for all cultures and ways of life. She was by all means a special empathetic lady. Her conviviality, energy, heritage and spanish name inspired us in creating Casa Lucia.
